Administered by 501c3-based organization, Power is Giving, Inc., Eat Drink Disrupt (EDD) Chronic Disease Summits are 1/2 day, evidence-based, clinical, culinary and wellness equity programs that present Black, Indigenous People of Color (BIPOC) clinicians, chefs, expert panelists, caterers and vendors from across the country.

With a targeted focus on the mitigation of inequities and our top chronic diseases through teaching, tasting and the clinical presentation of evidence-based science, we provide opportunities for re-education and business reinvestment in communities that need it most.

From free vendor registration & tables for wellness-focused BIPOC-owned businesses, honorariums for our live cooking demo chefs and taste and hydrate stations, free eco-friendly totes filled with wellness goodies like a clinically-endorsed, health-focused vegan cookbook and clinical literature from the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine and the integration of like-minded ally partners, we plant seeds that break generational curses, forward facts and aid in the mitigation of our top chronic diseases; particularly among communities disproportionately-impacted and systemically disenfranchised by them.

“The EDD Heath Summits have been two of the most informative and well-planned plant-based educational health conferences targeted to the Black community I've had the honor and privilege of participating in.  I have always come away from the events having learned from the other expert presenters and also with an expanded network of colleagues and contacts.  Dawn's EDD Summits are "must attend" events and I hope they will expand to cover a full weekend in the future!."

ELIZABETH MOTLEY, MD

"It’s one thing to tell people to adopt a more plant based diet. But helping individuals to understand the why from a clinical perspective and the how from a culinary perspective is both motivating and empowering. Dawn gives individuals the knowledge and skills to take ownership of their health! ."

JOE GERARD

I've been vegan now for over 2 decades and I've attended many terrific lectures, cooking classes and motivational speaker events throughout the years. The EDD Summit I attended in Greenville was, however, second to none!! Wow! I felt like I was back in college but this time it was Vegucational! My brain hurt in the best possible way and I woke up the next day committed to using the information I gleaned to making healthier diet choices. The food and merchandise vendors were wonderful, the chefs teaching the cooking classes inspiring, and the esteemed but approachable speakers knocked my socks off."
